WELCOME TO LUDDINGTON MARINE

Inspiring awe for our oceans

Luddington Marine was founded from a joyous draw to the natural world and a belief that a deep appreciation of nature is fundamental to our well-being and that of the planet.  Through guided sea kayak journeys, workshops, talks and written publications Luddington Marine inspires awe for the wonderful marine life that thrives in our oceans. Whether you prefer to get in amongst it in a sea kayak, ramble along the shore at low tide or read about it from your favourite arm chair, there is so much to discover...

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

My Story

After studying at the University of Wales, Bangor I gained my degree then my PhD in marine biology in 2000. Since then I have worked in marine conservation and the outdoor sector as a guide and become a PADI Dive Master, British Canoeing 4 star sea kayak leader, surf coach and certified Marine Mammal Observer. I now run professional development courses for outdoor guides and instructors including the Marine Environments module for the International Sea Kayak Guides Association. I am also a photographer and write a column for the sea kayaking magasine Ocean Paddler on marine life and am an ambassador for Palm Equipment and Rockpool kayaks.

MY WORK

Spreading the message

I provide expertise in marine biology for written publications, workshops, professional development courses for outdoor guides and instructors, and guided sea kayak journeys and seashore safaris. Learn more about each below.

WRITING & PHOTOGRAPHY

I have been writing a column for Ocean Paddler magazine called Seasonal Delights since 2012 that focuses on marine and coastal life encountered whilst kayaking along the coast. I am also a contributor to the Do Lectures blog.  My aim is to inspire wonder for the natural world through life stories and striking images.
